"Ngo zhi tou ngo hou chi zhou, pat ko zhong yow kei yatt tou chap go mei..
ngo hou hou loi mou kong kwong tong wa, ngo sii har la, hei mong lei tei ming pak ngo kong mi yeh :)

Gong hei fatt choy, san lin fai lok, ngo hei mong lei ko lin wui fai fai lok lok, lei wui yaw hong meng, yatt yatt tou hoi hoi sam sam, yatt yatt tou kin hong, yow hong yeh sek."

ok..that's all i can come up with..told you my Cantonese was BAD!!! i desperately need to find more people to speak Cantonese with, so malufying man but i still had to try...

just in case..here's the translation:
"I know I'm very late but there's still a few more days till chap go mei (the 15th day of CNY celebrations) Wishing you prosperity, joyous new year, i hope your year will be joyous, you will have a good life, everyday you are happy, everyday you are healthy and have good things to eat.."
May the year of the tiger be filled with opportunities for you, new adventures and exciting moments. I pray that you will have much love, peace and joy in your homes, togetherness and unity this coming year. May you and your family be prosperous, healthy and successful. New year doesnt just mean clean house, new look, new clothes but a new chapter in your life, precious time spent with family and getting through things together..

For me, right now, i am away from home. The closest thing that i have to home is Skype, sms's and photos that my relatives posted up on FB. CNY here was fun..but more on that later ;P

This year back home, many unexpected things happened..both good and bad. Unexpected visitations, unexpected deaths and unexpected news. All in all, it's good that family was all there to get through it all together. Every year, every birthday i miss, every celebration, i always think to myself..how i wish i was there with them.. that feeling sucks, it just makes me miss home more. gosh..

today i was recalling the past CNYs in my life..
  1. i miss hanging up the decorations
  2. i miss meeting the visitors and sitting with them listening to how their days were
  3. i miss steamboat nite!!!
  4. i miss waiting for my relatives to come from singapore...always hoping that this year we would get to have more fun with our cousins
  5. i miss looking over the mahjong table, seeing who is winning, trying to learn the game
  6. i miss reunion dinners where the whole family was there, all at one place
  7. i miss hearing my dad sing karaoke to his fav. chinese songs
  8. i miss the trips to Penang with my mom
  9. i miss my mom's world's best pineapple tarts, mandarin oranges
  10. i miss the whole atmosphere of CNY- loud firecrackers till late at nite, crazy laughter when someone wins a game of mahjong, the food and company, checking the mail box everyday to see if anyone sent us CNY cards, seeing red everywhere..everything really..

i used to steal the CNY cards away from my mom when its time to throw them out, i'd look at the writing, the message in it and salvage whatever parts of the card i can use..

Each year it would be different, each year there would be something to remember..too bad our memories cant store them all..maybe i should get an album or journal or something just to record the CNY moments for that year..would be great to look back at time in the future..

wow..soo many memories are coming back to me now..

so much for productive Sunday..i guess you gain some, you lose some :) it still was a good Sunday..

So those of you who are home with your families, enjoy it since you have the chance, they wont be there forever. Have a great year ahead, do things differently, try new things..whatever it is, love your life and live it, appreciate the people close to you and love, forgive and be happy.

pou zhong!!YAM SENG!!!!

a lil lil post..

Here's to turning over a new leaf and get on with doing something with life :) cheers!!!
